Board President
Wende Carver is co-owner of a Real Estate Development company with her husband David. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1994 and the search for a cure is what drives her passion to help individuals living with MS.

Administrative Staff
Judy Bombardier has been in healthcare all of her life. She began as a junior volunteer at the former North Adams Regional Hospital in high school and then joined the Dietary Dept. as an employee. She worked at NARH for over 30 years and held numerous positions which included Director of Volunteers and Community Relations Coordinator.

Cheryl is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Regional High School in North Adams, and McCann Medical Assistant Program. Cheryl worked many years in healthcare at North Adams Regional Hospital, Williamstown Medical Associates, and VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire.

Her professional interests include multiple sclerosis, autoimmune diseases, spasticity, and headache.

Wende Carver
Board PresidentWende Carver is co-owner of a Real Estate Development company with her husband David. She was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1994 and the search for a cure is what drives her passion to help individuals living with MS. In 2006 a small nonprofit was founded with the mission of providing education, support and resources for those individuals affected by MS as well as families and healthcare providers who are dedicated to improving the lives of those afflicted.
Wende spent 15 years as a former Board member of the Williamstown Theatre Festival and is currently a Board member of the Berkshire Theatre Group. She has been on the Boards of the Council of the Arts and is a corporator at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. In addition to her passion for the arts, she also loves to travel and owned a travel agency. Wende and David’s 3 daughters and 8 grandchildren bring them the greatest joys in life!
Wende Carver
Executive DirectorFor nearly 17 years, Gwendolyn worked as a coordinator at St. Joseph’s, ensuring that older adults receive high-quality care and support. Throughout her career, she has built meaningful relationships, advocating for seniors’ well-being and connecting them with vital resources.
In addition to her work in senior care, Gwendolyn brings over 27 years of experience in property management, specializing in funding development. She has played a key role in securing local, state, and federal grants to support housing for individuals with disabilities, including those who may be navigating challenges with their emotional, mental, and physical health.
In her personal time, she enjoys camping and spending time with her family as well as volunteering with Berkshire Community Action Council (BCAC) helping to support individuals and families who need extra care & support.
Driven by her desire to help others not just heal but thrive, Gwendolyn joined the MS Foundation. Here, she combines her extensive experience with her love for people, making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with chronic illness.

Judy Bombardier
Executive DirectorJudy Bombardier has been in healthcare all of her life. She began as a junior volunteer at the former North Adams Regional Hospital in high school and then joined the Dietary Dept. as an employee. She worked at NARH for over 30 years and held numerous positions which included Director of Volunteers and Community Relations Coordinator. In 1999 when cutbacks occurred at the hospital she became the Executive Director of the Williamstown Council on Aging and did a short stent as the Marketing Director of a local Bus Tour company. Judy longed to return to healthcare and in 2000 she was hired as the Director of Activities/Volunteer Services at Sweet Brook of Williamstown. In 2007 Williamstown Commons recruited Judy to become the Director of Admissions and Community Outreach. While she enjoyed working with the residents and families Judy decided to semi-retire in 2013 when longtime friend Wende Carver asked her to become the Executive Director of her MS Foundation. Judy is a board member of the Williamstown Council on Aging, a member of the Rotary Club of Williamstown, a corporator of the Adams Community Bank and a board member of the Williamstown Housing Authority. Judy met her husband Ernie at their 25 th high school reunion. She is a Licensed Medical Social Worker and has a Master’s Degree in Management. Judy inherited her mother’s love of life and helping people and this keeps her motivated to aid those in need.

Cheryl Witherell
Office ManagerCheryl is a graduate of St. Joseph’s Regional High School in North Adams, and McCann Medical Assistant Program. Cheryl worked many years in healthcare at North Adams Regional Hospital, Williamstown Medical Associates, and VNA & Hospice of Northern Berkshire. She also worked for North Adams Public Schools for the last 10 years. Cheryl joined the staff at MS Support Foundation in 2020.
She is happily married to her husband Fran, and they will celebrate their 50th Anniversary in September.
They have 3 grown children and 2 grown grandchildren. Cheryl likes to read, take walks, exercise, practice guided meditation and prayer to stay healthy. She is an activist for wellness and selfcare. She is a true believer of the combination of Science, Nature, and Faith.

Angela Marie Applebee, MD

Her professional interests include multiple sclerosis, autoimmune diseases, spasticity, and headache.
Applebee received her medical degree from the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine. She completed her residency and fellowship in neuroimmunology at The University of Veromont Medical Center. Previously, she served as associate professor and director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Northen New England, located within The University of Vermont Medical Center. St. Peter’s Neurology.
